Dr. Lalani completed her undergraduate degree in Finance with a minor in Spanish at the University of Houston. After working for a large financial institution, she returned to academia to pursue science.
She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and trained as a lifespan psychologist with a specialization in neuropsychology. She completed her residency at the VA Northern California Health Care System in Martinez, California, with specialization in neuropsychology. She then went on to complete her two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the Epilepsy Center at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
She is a Licensed Psychologist in Texas (38583) and California (32285).
Dr. Lalani has the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT #5780) granted by the PSYPACT Commission in 44 states and the list of participating states continues to grow.
During graduate school, Dr. Lalani studied the effects traumatic brain injury on memory and attention in children. During fellowship, she continued to study memory by working with adults who had temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), jointly with UCSF and the LOCI Lab at UCSD (click to visit LOCI Lab). Dr. Lalani enjoys yoga, biking and kickboxing. She enjoys going on hikes with her family and newly adopted furry-baby, Sunny.
